Why consistency is key

Why consistency is key – my 100th 60 Second Snippet!

Wow – that crept up quickly! It doesn’t seem that long since I was one a call with the wonderful Jo Watson, chatting on one of her fabulous ‘Sorted in 60’ calls about how I could transition from a newsletter that was feeling a little tired and not very impactful, to something with a little more va va voom!

We came up with 60 Second Snippet – an anecdote, soundbite or short story that could be consumed in less than one minute, so it didn’t get deleted or snoozed.

Here we are 100 weeks later. Barring Xmas week, we have not missed. Consistently landing in 5,000+ inboxes every Thursday.

Apart from being a little bit chuffed, why am I telling you this?

Consistency is the secret sauce that can elevate your marketing and social media efforts from good to great.

You started with every good intention, and then the consistency drops off because you either get too busy or you are not seeing engagement (vanity measures) and think it’s not working.

In this time, I have had numerous business owners engage.  Some were past prospects that have re-engaged because a snippet has triggered them.  Some were new contacts that have seen the content and it resonated.

Whether it be a newsletter, social media posting or any other form of marketing – you need to be consistent rather than constant.

Here are five compelling reasons why maintaining consistency is crucial for your brand’s success and ultimately building your pipeline and business:

Builds brand awareness: consistent posting ensures that your brand remains visible to your target audience. Frequent exposure to your content helps to imprint your brand in their minds, making them more likely to remember you when they need the products or services you offer.

Establishes authority: regularly sharing valuable content on your industry or niche establishes you as an authority in your field. Consistency demonstrates that you are knowledgeable and committed, earning the trust and respect of your audience.

Increases audience engagement: posting consistently keeps your audience engaged and coming back for more. Whether it’s through likes, comments, or shares, maintaining an active presence encourages interaction with your content, fostering a sense of community around your brand.

Improves brand loyalty: consistency breeds familiarity, and familiarity breeds trust. By consistently delivering on your brand promise and values, you foster a sense of loyalty among your audience. Customers are more likely to stick with a brand they know and trust.

Boosts conversion rates: consistent marketing and social media activity keep your brand top-of-mind for potential customers. The more frequently they see your content, the more likely they are to engage with it and eventually convert into paying customers.

I had a contact email me this week saying they had been lurking and following me online for some time. They had never liked, commented or shared any content – they were merely consuming my content and building up a picture or whether I could help them.

If my content had been inconsistent, they may well have gone elsewhere.

Consistency is key to building a strong and memorable brand presence online. By maintaining a regular posting schedule and delivering valuable content consistently, you can strengthen your brand’s visibility, authority, engagement, loyalty, and ultimately, your bottom line.

Be clear on your target audience, your key messaging and be consistent to build a brand, loyalty and a pipeline of high quality leads.

What stops you being consistent?
